Cleveland, GA - The Montreat women's soccer team traveled to Georgia for a conference matchup with Truett-McConnell on Saturday. After a scoreless first forty minutes, the Bears used two goals late in the first half to propel them to a 4-0 victory over the Cavaliers.

A scoreless tie was broken when the Bears scored in the 41st minute. And strong closing effort led to another goal in the 45th minute to give the Bears the 2-0 advantage at the half. Truett-McConnell continued to press thoughout the second half, adding their third goal in 57th minute and closing out the match with a fourth and final tally in the 89th minute.

The Bears used their aggressive attack to outshoot Montreat 35-3. Jordan DeVaan (SO/Asheville, NC) had a busy day in goal, collecting 19 saves on the match.

The Cavaliers return to action Tuesday, September 29 when they travel to face Union College in a mactch set to begin at 5pm.


Black Mountain, NC - The Montreat College women's soccer team returned to action at Howard Fisher Memorial Field on Thursday to take on AAC opponent Tennessee Wesleyan. The Bulldogs got off to a blazing start and used five first half goals to propel them to a 5-1 victory.

After giving up a flurry of goals in the first half, the Cavaliers bucked down and got on the board in the 51st minute with a goal from Alanna Castaneda (FR/Dallas, TX). After goalkeeper Melina Wilkinson (SR/Johannesburg, South Africa) exited the match with an injury, Jordan DeVaan (SO/Asheville, NC) filled in admirably, collecting six saves while keeping the the Bulldogs scoreless in the second half. 

On Saturday, September 26, the Cavaliers will head to Cleveland, GA to take on Truett-McConnell in a matchup of AAC opponents.


Black Mountain, NC - Montreat College dropped a 3-1 decision to AAC foe Bryan College in women's' soccer action Saturday at Howard Fisher Memorial Field. Although the Cavaliers were aggressive offensively and outshot the Lions 18-14, it wasn't until the 88th minute that Kristina Anderson (SR/Hendersonville, NC) scored for the Cavaliers off of an Alexandria Peat (SO/Dorchester, Ontario) assist. By that point, Bryan had already scored three goals of their own to build a comfortable lead against the home team.

Melina Wilkinson (SR/Johannesburg, South Africa) added six saves while serving in goal for Montreat, who returns to action at home on Wednesday, September 23 against Tennessee Wesleyan. The match is set to begin at 4:30pm at Howard Fisher Memorial Field.
