2009-10 Season Outlook

The 2009-10 season looks to be an exciting one for the Montreat Cavaliers women's basketball team. With thirteen returning players and three newcomers, the Cavaliers look to have more depth than they have in several seasons.

Led by returning senior guards Janel Cox, Whitney Boone, and Kera Bryant, the Cavalier back-court should be skilled, versatile and athletic. All three seniors have started at various times during their career and provide valuable experience to the Cavaliers.

The Cavalier front court begins with senior Anjelica "A.J."Jackson and sophomore Alicia Wallace. Jackson hopes to improve, coming off of a steady junior campaign, while Wallace looks to take up where she left off, after being named to the AAC All- Freshman team.

Montreat welcomes three new players into the Cavalier family, all of which are junior college transfers.  Stephanie Morrison (Columbia Basin College) and Siutiti Takai (Umpqua Community College) will add immediate help in the post, as Chaecie Bullock (Spartanburg Methodist College) provides depth and the point guard position.

The Cavaliers look to improve on their 2008-09 season with fourteen very competitive non-conference games and a new look AAC schedule that should test the Cavaliers very early in the season.
