COACH MOO'S THOUGHTS ON ELLEN
I am very excited to have the opportunity to coach Ellen again. Ellen is an extremely hard worker and expects a lot from everyone around her. She brings the level of intensity up and challenges those around her to step up. When I coached her in NY, unless she was out of town, she was at every optional practice, weight room workout, and was always willing to help with the younger teams.  She loves the sport and it wasn't uncommon for her to stick around in the gym for four or five hours at a time.  She'll be the teammate that asks if you want to go pepper at nine at night or goes for a run when no one has asked her to, just to improve herself for the game.  Don't be thrown off by her size either, she can jump and has a very quick arm swing.  She will be a great addition to our team this year for intensity, skill, knowledge of the game, as well as character and work ethic. Also, having been at Houghton, I know she comes from a great program, I have the greatest respect for Coach Cole, both on and off the court.

Favorite non-athletic hobby:
Probably writing.
What do I do in my spare time:
I like to read, mostly fantasy stuff like Harry Potter. But I think I can get into any book if I can put at least 15 minutes into starting it. Also in my spare time, as one might infer from answer #1, I like to write. I've been working on a particular story for a couple years now that doesn't seem to be going anywhere, but hey, I enjoy it.
My pets:
Here's a good question. I think it's good. I have one dog named Buddy. That's pretty normal. Our cats are a bit more interesting, and we have five: Leonardo (after the ninja turtle), Fat Lard, Mouse, Squirrel, and Gold Cat.

Favorite thing about MC:
I haven't spent a lot of time at Montreat, so I don't know if I have a favorite thing. One thing that's pretty great though, as far as I can tell, is the weather. Blue skies, warm breezes, sun, and some fine scenery to go with it. New York is so gray and dreary.
Favorite thing about MC VB:
Again, haven't spent a ton of time with the program. But I like that the group of girls is so ready to commit to this season and relate with each other and give everything they can. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish.
Favorite Author:
I don't really have a favorite. Recently I've really liked Dan Brown's Angels and Demons, and the Da Vinci Code (both books are better than their respective movies by the way). But I have read several books by Anne Rice which to a lot of people is sketchy, but they're really kind of thought provoking.
Hopes after college:
This is a big question for me. I haven't even really committed to a major yet. I'm looking at this year right now and that's about as far as I can see. Ask me next spring and I'll probably give you the same answer.
What are your thoughts on playing for your old high school coach?
It would be pretty boring and sort of scripted to say that I'm excited to play for my high school coach again, but it is true. I think the fact that I've played for her before makes coming in as a transfer player a little less uncomfortable. But at the same time, it's not about comfort because you've got to work your butt off if you want to be on the court at game time. I know Coach Moo can and will push everyone beyond their "comfort zone" to grow.

Thoughts on living in the south:
the only thing I can think of to say is that I'd like to stick with my New York accent and indefinitely avoid using the (supposed) word "y'all."
