COACH MOO'S THOUGHTS ON CHELSEA

I first noticed Chelsea at a recruiting showcase.  Going into showcases, I'm looking for skill, energy on the court, a "relentless pursuit" attitude on defense, how they treat their teammates and coaches, and hoping that when I get to talk to them they are a good fit for Montreat College.  The situation with Chelsea couldn't have worked out any better. Chelsea definitely stood out on the court, she is high energy, she has the skills and despite that she was with girls that she didn't normally play with at the showcase, she still took leadership and was very vocal. I loved that about her right away.  Then after getting to talk to her mom I was even more excited… Chelsea was looking for a strong Christian college.  It's just been so exciting to see how God has brought the team together for this year.  Chelsea has great leadership potential and will be a strong libero for us this year. I'm excited about the energy and attitude she will bring to the court and she is strong academically and desires to honor the Lord in all she does.

Went to second round of State Playoffs in 2008...Selected to Northeast North Carolina's Albermarle All-Conference Team and All Area Team....Ranked 2nd out of 293 in state of North Carolina and 48th out of 500 for digs in the country on maxpreps.com...Member of Tidewater Volleyball Association club team.

What's your favorite non athletic hobby?

What do you like to do in your spare time?  
Watch movies with friends and family, watch the tv series "House" or "Monk," and just relax.

What are your pets and what are their names?
I have one dog named Tessie; she's half doxin and half poodle and she's very old.  I also have three cats; Tom, Isabel, and Georgie.  Tom kind of came with the house.  We took Isabel in so she wouldn't be taken to the pound.  And, Georgie was born in our barn and raised as an indoor/outdoor cat.

Favorite thing about MC?
Montreat College is a small, beautiful, Christian school.

Favorite thing about MC VB?
The groups of girls on the team and Coach Moo are strong believers and have the same overall goal:  Honor God in all we do.
