KANSAS CITY, MO (October 28, 2008) -- The Montreat College Women's Cross Country received the recognition they deserve for all their hard work and performance this season, as the team received 41national votes to place them #30 in the NAIA.
"It's such an honor to be on a team that has received such a high recognition", replied senior Talisa Bishop. "It's a challenge to make it through all the tough workouts that we have completed and it's amazing to think that no one has faltered. Everyone has kept their focus on our goal all season. It's nice to see that our hard work hasn't gone unnoticed. It's very motivating heading into the conference championships."
Head Coach Jose Larios is proud of both his teams. "I'm proud of both our men and women. Obviously, the men are working equally as hard, but it's a great step for our program in general to have our women creep up the national rankings. Steps like this will legitimize our program for many high school recruits looking to compete for a quality collegiate program in North Carolina."
The Lady Cavs are #2 in the AAC behind Milligan College who is currently ranked #18 in the NAIA. For a complete list of the rankings
