Montreat Men's Basketball program has taken two straight losses in AAC Conference play. After coming off a tough loss to Reinhardt at home 75-92, they took another loss on the road to (#2) Tennessee Wesleyan only losing by three 79-82. In both games Montreat led at halftime.

Walters' comments on the past two games: "We played three halves of good basketball. We have got to come into each game focused on the details. Most teams we play are more athletic than we are, so it's the things above and beyond athleticism that keep us in games."

Against Tennessee Wesleyan, Montreat only went to the free throw line 9 times where they were 9 for 9 while Tennessee Wesleyan recorded a 23 for 32 mark from the line. "We can't control officials. The bigger picture is defensively we need to be more disciplined in finding and boxing out our man. On the offensive end we need to value and take care of the basketball more," says Coach Walters. Montreat also got beat on the glass 25-31 for the game and turned the ball over 22 times, but the Cavaliers continue to shoot the ball well with a 54% accuracy from the field.

The Cavaliers take on Virginia Intermont at home this Saturday (Jan. 21) at 7:30PM. They also play at home on the 23rd against Johnson and Wales.
