Three Montreat Volleyball players picked up notable awards recently adding to the list of accomplishments by the 2011 AAC Tournament Championship Team.

The NAIA just released the list of student-athletes who were named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes. Junior Alyssa Kaufman was named to the team. In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor. This adds to the list of awards the junior from Wisconsin has picked up including AAC All Conference, AAC All Academic, and AAC Hitter of the Week and Player of the Week Awards.

Senior Natalie Nieman picked up a post season AVCA-NAIA All-Regional Award, making the NAIA's Northeast All - Region First Team. This adds to the extensive list of awards senior Natalie Nieman has picked up through the year including two AAC Setter of the Week awards, AAC All Conference First Team, AAC All-Academic Team, AAC Tournament MVP, and AAC All Tournament Team.

Sophomore Bethany Hirz who was red-shirted this year due to an injury earned the NAIA Champion of Character Award which was presented at the NAIA National Championship Opening Round for her enthusiasm, support, and servant heart for the team demonstrated throughout the past year. Hirz also was named to the AAC All-Academic Team.
