ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Mykiea Russell of Montreat (N.C.) is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Russell helped the 13th-ranked Lady Cavaliers to a 3-0 record last week, all of which were conference victories.

The Los Angeles native averaged 13 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists last week. Russell's best scoring game came in the 75-72 win over Bryan (Tenn.) when she netted 15. However, the 5-foot-2 senior guard accounted for the final four points for Montreat in the 65-63 win over No. 19 Union (Ky.), including the game-winner at the buzzer.

On the year, Russell is averaging 13.3 points per game and leads the conference in assists (5.77 per game) and steals (2.85 per game), ranking fourth and 15th, respectively, in NAIA Division II.
