The Cavaliers grinded out a solid win against conference foe Bryan College last night in a 66-69 victory. Montreat walked into last night's game with a 4-7 record, 0-1 in conference play and came out one step closer to their ultimate goal. "We want to be as competitive as possible" says Coach Walters. "Our guys understand that they have to come with their best every night in order for us to have a chance at winning."
Montreat came with their best shooting performance of the year as they shot 53% from the field and 55% from behind the arc. Leading the way for the Cavaliers was Dustin Harris with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Other major contributors were La'Bris Adams with 15 points and Terrell Mosley with 15 points.
Coach Walters' comments: "We're learning how to grind out wins. Things didn't always go our way, but we never quit, we made big shots when we needed to, and the guys played as a unit all the way through. I'm very proud of this team."
The Cavs see action again at home, this Thursday at 7:30PM in conference play against Union College.
