LaBris Adams has become the newest member of the Men's Basketball program at Montreat College after signing to play this season with Head Coach Lincoln Walters' Cavalier team.
Adams will come to Montreat from Northwestern High School via Southern Carolina Prep. At Northwestern in Rock Hill, S.C., he averaged 17 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, and was selected to the 1st team all-state team. He helped lead the Trojans to their only Final Four appearance in 2009 where they ultimately lost to Gaffney High School. Adams also played football at Northwestern, where he received all-state honors as a wide receiver. Northwestern advanced to the South Carolina 4A State Championship in football in 2009.
"As LaBris has earned many accolades over his time in high school, I think he can bring much more to our program here at Montreat College. At 6'3", 215 pounds, his aggressiveness, strength, and power can bring an element to this team that we desperately need," says Coach Walters.
Adams comes from a rather large family, where he helps take care of five sisters and one younger brother. He shared his thoughts on joining the program at Montreat: "I'm excited about the opportunity to come to Montreat and offer my skills and abilities. It's going to be a fun year, and I can't wait for the season to get started."
Montreat College is a Christ-centered liberal arts institution with its main campus for four-year traditional students in Montreat. The accelerated School of Professional and Adult Studies program has campuses in Asheville, Charlotte, and Black Mountain.
