Cavs look stronger and stronger for 2010 season
Montreat College Volleyball head coach Christine Mooberry this week announced that Rosman High School volleyball player Kara Galloway has signed to play for the Cavaliers starting as a freshman in fall 2010.  Galloway will join the developmental program for Mooberry's squad and plans to work toward a career in Physical Therapy at Montreat.

Galloway is the daughter of Mark and Christy Galloway of Rosman, NC and was a member of a strong Tigers program that finished its 2009 season with a sparkling 31-2 record, a Smokey Mountain Conference title, and a runner-up finish in the North Carolina 1-A state championship tournament.

Mildred Powell coached Galloway at Rosman and believes the future Cavalier will continue to improve: "I don't believe Kara has reached her peak in volleyball yet and that she will be very successful at the college level."

Active in the Middle Fork Baptist Church youth group and in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Galloway also enjoys riding horses and spending time with friends and family.  Said Galloway, "I am thrilled that Montreat is a Christian college and am excited to play volleyball there."

Mooberry appreciates that Galloway is focused on studying in the pre physical-therapy program at Montreat and on improving her skills as a volleyball player: "Kara will be a great fit for Montreat College and will be a very strong player in our developmental program."

Mooberry anticipates a successful season in 2010 after her team set a school record for most victories in a season, finished with a 27-19 win-loss mark, and lost only one player to graduation.
