May 5, 2010,  Mooresville, NC- Coach Larios is thrilled to announce the addition of Alex Brito, of Mooresville High School, to his 2010 cross country and track & field signees.

Another great product of Mooresville's Coach Michael Royal, Brito runs the 800m, 1600m and both the 4 x 800m and 4 x 400m relays. Coach Larios believes the young recruit has potential to be a factor for the Cavaliers as a freshman, "Alex has great bio-mechanics and he's a feisty competitor. He's already run some pretty decent times. He'll add a great work ethic and spirit to our workout sessions."

Coach Royal had this to share, "Alex is a great kid from a great family. Montreat will enjoy having him be a part of the program."

"We want to continue to build a team that's honoring to God. We want the character of this team to be very evident everywhere we go. Adding kids like Alex will only solidify us in that direction. I look forward to seeing Alex continue to grow as a young man socially, athletically and spiritually," added Coach Larios.

Alex had this to say about his decision to join the Cavaliers, "I've always dreamed about being a part of something that is bigger and better. Signing with Montreat made my dreams come true. I'm excited to see the person I will be next year. I know the team and the school will have a big part of who I become."

Brito holds personal best marks of 16:45 for 5K and 4:50.27 in the 1600m.
