The Montreat College Lady Cavaliers traveled to Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday and swept the Warriors 6-2 and 7-6.
 
In Game 1 Montreat (2-4) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st on an Olivia Huffman RBI to score Kristine Valdez . The Warriors came back and tied it at 1-1 in the bottom of the 2nd. In the top of the 4th, Montreat regained the lead on Jamie Lokken's RBI single and never looked back.
 
The Lady Cavs were led by Jamie Lokken, who went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Kristine Valdez was 2 or 4, scoring 3 runs.
 
Rachel Stowe was 2 for 4 at the plate while earning Montreat's first win of the season. Stowe allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, 6 strikeouts, and no walks.
 
In Game 2 the Lady Cavs were forced to come from behind as the Warriors took an early lead. Down 4-1 in the top of the 4th, the Lady Cavs rallied with 2 outs to take a 5-4 lead. In the bottom of the 5th, SWU tied it at 5-5.
 
Montreat came back out in the top of the 6th to take a 6-5 lead and would add another run in the 7th to take a 7-5 lead. The Warriors would plate one more run in the bottom of the 7th to make the final score 7-6.
 
Jamie Lokken once again led the Lady Cavs going 3 for 4 with a double, triple and 3 RBIs. Kristine Valdez was 2-3 with 2 doubles and an RBI. Priscilla Silva also contributed going 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.
 
Nicole Denny earned the win for Montreat, while Rachel Stowe picked up the save.
