The Lady Cavs rebounded from a tough loss on Monday night to finish the week strongly, defeating Appalachian Athletic Conference foes Tennessee Wesleyan College on Wednesday and Milligan College on Thursday in home matches at McAlister Gym, before heading into Montreat College Homecoming action. The five-set defeat on Monday to a talented squad from King College disappointed Volleyball Head Coach Christy Mooberry, but she was upbeat after watching her team snap back against the conference opposition.  She has a very young team but says, "If we can continue to push for consistent intensity and strong play we have the potential to excel."

And they did excel for portions of the next two matches, dropping a close opening set to Tennessee Wesleyan before collecting the next three sets, punctuating a solid win with a convincing 25-12 final set.

Coming back from Monday's loss to defeat Tennessee Wesleyan two nights later was "gratifying," Mooberry said, and the team's ability to put forth another strong effort one night later was a sign that the team is maturing as the season progresses.  Vocal home fans had much to cheer as Montreat College survived a slight dip in form in the third set against Milligan College to win 25-16, 25-20, 18-25, 25-14.

Combined statistical highlights from the latest two games include Ellen Goodman's 20 kills, 5 aces and 20 digs, Allie Baumgartner's 7 kills, 15 digs, and 7 solo blocks, Hilary Harrison's 21 kills and 2 block assists, Natalie Nieman's 46 assists, and Anna Stephenson's 13 kills, 4 solo blocks and 8 block assists.
