The Cavaliers Volleyball team won another conference match up on the road last night, downing Virginia Intermont in four games: 25-22, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21. Ellen Goodman had 15 kills and 18 digs in the match, Anna Stephenson had 10 kills and five solo blocks, Natalie Nieman had 23 assists and Liz Huitron contributed 17 digs in the contest.
The Cavs would fall to former conference member King College in three games: 15-25, 20-25, 19-25. Allie Baumgartner, Alyssa Kaufman and Anna Stephenson all had 6 kills. Bekah Corn and Ellen Goodman had 5 kills apiece. Kaufman managed 11 digs in the match and Goodman recorded 10 digs.
According to Coach Mooberry, " I'm glad we won, but we should have won in three [against Virginia Intermont]. They didn't play well. I love my girls. And I feel very blessed in that way. I wish they would step it up on the court. They know what they need, but aren't quite able to put it together yet. We also struggled a lot last night with consistency in sets and that hurt us a lot."
The matches last night bring the Lady Cavs overall record to 8-3, with a 2-0 AAC record on the season. The next match for the Cavs will be their first conference home game of the season against Bryan College and Covenant College.
