Ally Cochran, a standout softball player from Pisgah High School -- one of the most successful programs in the area -- will be putting on the Cavalier jersey next season with Coach Lee Swanson and the rest of the crew. Ally is the daughter of Gary and Cathy Cochran, of Canton, NC. The Pisgah squad Cochran comes from dropped their season opener last year and then went on to win 25 straight games in the regular season, finishing 25-1.

Coach Swason says, "Ally exemplifies the type of student-athlete that we are looking for here at Montreat College. She is a great student. She will help us on the field next year with some spot pitching and also at the corner positions of the infield."
Ally was a strong offensive player for the Pisgah High School Black Bears last year, batting .320 on the season and racking up 12 RBIs. Her glove was a strong factor in their success as well -- Cochran maintained a very respectable 96% fielding percentage and was named to the All-Conference team her senior year.

Ally says, "I am so excited to have the opportunity to go to Montreat College and get to play ball.  I love the great family atmosphere that Montreat has both on and off the field."
