MONTREAT, NC (Apri l17, 2009) -- In game one of a doubleheader against AAC opponent Virginia Intermont, the score remained 0-0 for the Cavs and VI going into the bottom of the seventh inning.  Senior Mandi Pike smashed the ball into a triple.  Junior Kerby Barkdoll looped one into right field that was able to score Pike and the winning run.

Rachel Stowe pitched a complete game for the Cavs, only allowing two hits and striking out eight batters. Freshman Tameron Sealey went 2-for-3 while teammates Olivia Huffman, Mandi Pike, and Kerby Barkdoll each had a hit to give the Cavs five hits for the game.

Game two was a different story and outcome for the Cavs as they fell to the Cobras 0-2.  Sophomore Meredith Mitchell picked up the loss for Cavs. VI scored a run in the first and their second run came in the seventh inning. 

With the split, Montreat goes to 7-5 in the AAC and 17-19 overall.
