MONTREAT, NC (April 24, 2009) --  The Cavaliers took four games from Southern Virginia University this week by the scores of 16-7 and 14-11 on Tuesday and 7-1 and 4-3 on Wednesday. The big highlight of this series went to Cameron Duckworth (Asheville, NC) as he hit five homeruns in the series to take to all time single season homerun record as he has 21 for the year. Lucas Martin (Durham, NC) and Steven Hoyle (Cherryville, NC) also had big days at the plate as Hoyle would rack up five rbi on Tuesday and Martin would be perfect in  the first game with a three hit day.

On the second day of action, Montreat would get an incredible pitching performance from Andrew Tallent (Morganton, NC) as he would have a no-hitter going into the sixth before a homerun would that bid but he still recorded the win only allowing two hits on the day.  Freshman Jordan Sells(Smithfield, NC) would have three hits on the day and Garrett Jones (Elwood, IN) would record his second save in as many days. Montreat runs their record to 29-17 and will resume play Saturday at 1:00 against Virginia Intermont.
