MONTREAT, NC (April 21, 2009) -- The Appalachian Athletic Conference has selected Garrett Jones as the Pitcher of the Week for April 20, 2009.  Garrett is the first Cavalier from the baseball team to earn this honor this season. 

Jones went 2-0 last week and earned wins against Union College and King College over a five day period.  Garrett had a no hitter going into the sixth inning against #5 Union College.  In Montreat's 2-0 victory against King, Jones had a 10 inning shutout.  Jones only gave up one earned run in 17 innings while striking out 14 total.

Jones is from Elwood, IN and is planning on graduating this May with a major in Business Administration.
