Eager to get back on the winning path after three losses, the Montreat Cavaliers' volleyball team did just that on Tuesday in Athens, Tennessee. There they defeated the host Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs in straight sets (25-11, 25-17, 25-23) in a key Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matchup.

"Super proud of the ladies tonight. We came out humble and hungry to get a 3-0 win. Everyone stepped up whether they were playing or not," said head coach Kristy Kamer.

Senior Abby Graham (SR/Chattanooga, TN) contributed 22 assists for the visitors and added 10 digs. Kendra Johnson (SR/Ararat, NC) had 15 digs for the Cavs, while Anyla Kryeziu (SR/Prishtina, Kosovo) and Jazzy Larsen (SO/Danville, IN) added 13 and seven kills, respectively. A host of other Cavaliers (8-9, 5-3) added to the team's point totals on the evening including Rachel Swapp (SR/San Diego, CA), Madelyn Ybarra (FR/Weslaco, TX), and Courtney Glover (SR/Nashville, TN). With the loss, the host Bulldogs fell to 5-12 overall and 1-6 in the AAC.

The Cavs will be tested again tonight when they face the Bob Jones Bruins at McAlister Gym. The Bruins are 7-8 overall and compete within the DII ranks of the NCCAA. They currently are ranked 10th in the Association's top-10. The two teams faced each other in preseason action on August 17 in a tightly-contested match at McAlister Gym.

Montreat currently is in third-place in the AAC's North Division, trailing Bluefield College (9-9, 6-2) by one game and the conference's top squad, Union (19-4, 8-0), by three.
