MONTREAT, N.C.  – After the Montreat Cavaliers' volleyball team captured the first set against Bluefield College, it was clear they would be in for a battle on the evening. The Cavs (7-7, 4-1) took the opening set in a see-saw affair that saw the home team prevail, 25-23. They dropped the second set by the same 25-23 score and the two teams headed into the third knotted at one game apiece.

From there the Rams (6-9, 3-2) pulled away, taking the the next two sets (25-15, 25-20) to win the match, 3-1.

"We have some things to work on to get back on track," said head coach Kristy Kamer. The loss was the first within the AAC for Montreat this season after opening with four straight victories.

Although dropping the match, there were some individual highlights for the home team. Abby Graham (SR/Chattanooga, TN) followed up her AAC Setter of the Week performance last week with 39 assists on Tuesday night. Anyla Kryeziu (SR/Prishtina, Kosovo) led Montreat with 13 kills.

Next up: The Cavs head south to Reinhardt to take on the Eagles at 6:30 PM on Friday in Waleska, Ga. The Eagles are 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the AAC. Montreat topped Reinhardt twice in 2016-2017.
