MONTREAT, N.C. – The Montreat Cavaliers women's volleyball team started off a weekend slate of two conference matches when they beat the Columbia College Koalas in straight sets (25-22, 25-18, 25-11) at McAlister Gym on Friday. The win moved the Cavaliers to .500 on the year and, for the moment, an even 6-6 overall mark this season.

Anyla Kryeziu (SR/Prishtina, Kosovo) led the home team with 11 kills, while Courtney Glover (SR/Nashville, TN) added ten and Ila Elstein (SO/Jacksonville, FL) rounded out Montreat's top three with eight. Senior Abby Graham (SR/Chattanooga, TN) added 35 assists in the three-game set.

The next day the Cavaliers' faced another AAC foe in the Allen University Yellow Jackets. The result was another win, with Montreat sweeping the Yellow Jackets (25-16, 25-23, 25-21). Graham added 32 assists to her two-day total while Kendra Johnson (SR/Ararat, NC) contributed 27 digs.

The Cavs now find themselves at 7-6 overall and 4-0 in conference play this season, good for a first-place tie with Union College in the AAC's North Division.

"We had some rough moments, but finished when we needed to," said head coach Kristy Kamer of her team's two-game effort. "It was good to get two wins this weekend."

"We're very happy with the win. We came out a little bit slow, [but] we also came from playing last night," said Kryeziu following Saturday morning's sweep of Allen. "We had three wins in one week," she added, including last Tuesday's AAC win over Bryan College in which Kryeziu notched her 1,000 career kill. The Cavaliers were a perfect 3-0 for the week ended Saturday and will face Bluefield College on Tuesday.
