(March 29th, 2009)The Montreat College softball team traveled to Pfeiffer College for a double header on March 29th.  The Cavaliers split on the day.

The Cavs scored early in the first inning as Olivia Huffman hit an RBI single.  Pfeiffer put up two runs in the second inning to take the lead.  Amy Vogel hit a single and then stole second base to start off the third inning.  After two Pike errors Montreat tied up the game.  In the fifth inning Pfeiffer pulled away scoring five runs.  Montreat made a run in the seventh getting two on base with singles by Kerby Barkdoll and Rachel Stowe, followed by an Erin Cross double to score a run.  Jamie Poling brought in another run on a fielder's choice, but it would not be enough as Pfeiffer held on to win 6-4.

In the second game Montreat got off to a quick start scoring five runs in the first two innings.  Highlights include a Tameron Sealy single and a Pfeiffer error, followed by an Olivia Huffman RBI single.  Another error late in the top of the first would load the bases leading to a Kerby Barkdoll RBI single.  In the second, Montreat would score three more runs , started off with a single and stolen base by Tameron Sealy.  Olivia Huffman would bring in another run.  Later in the inning Amber Summerow would hit a triple, brining in two more runs.  Pfeiffer would score their only run of the game in the fifith as Montreat rolled 8-1 as Rachel Stowe pitched the win.
