GREENSBORO, NC - Members of the men's track & field team traveled to compete in the North Carolina A&T Aggie Invitational on Sunday, the final day of the regular season.
The meet was highlighted by the performance on the 4x400m relay. The quartet of Marcus Medina-Artis (FR/Kenly, NC), Connor Duncan (FR/Lawrenceburg, KY), Patrick Kizer (FR/Raleigh, NC), and Elijah Mitchell (SO/Milledgeville, GA) finished seventh in the highly contested event. Their time of 3:18.24 set a new program record and was just 0.54 seconds off of the NAIA national qualifying standard.
Earlier in the meet, Mitchell tied his personal best in the 400m with a time of 49.51 while Duncan raced to a time of 55.63 in the 400m hurdles. Brien Lancaster (JR/Jacksonville, NC) ran the 800m in 1:59.65 to place 14th overall.
The Cavaliers will now turn their focus to the upcoming NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, which will take place May 25th-27th in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Montreat had three individuals qualify for the championships: Connor Duncan (400m Hurdles), Rylan Hincher (SO/North Wilkesboro, NC) (marathon), and Lydia Wilson (FR/Smithfield, VA) (10,000m).
