The game would remain tied until the top of the fifth when junior Kerby Barkdoll added her own solo shot, her second home run of the season, to make it 2-1.  Rachel Stowe held UVa-Wise scoreless the final six frames for the Montreat (10-14/2-2 AAC) win of 2-1.

Game 2

Montreat tied the game in the top of the third on a walk, stolen base and passed ball before a run-scoring single.  Ridenour would give UVa-Wise the lead right back in the home third.  The sophomore singled, stole second and move to third on a passed ball.  Lawson struck out but reached first and Ridenour scored on a third strike wild pitch to make it 2-1.
