MILLIGAN, TN - The Montreat College men's soccer team picked up a big win on Tuesday night, knocking off Appalachian Athletic Conference rival Milligan College, 7-1.

The Cavaliers (6-5-1, 1-3-1 AAC) got going early when Francisco Prado (FR/Quito, Ecuador) found the back of the Milligan net in the 9th minute. The two sides would go scoreless for almost thirty minutes until the 36:51 mark, when Jeodanni Ordaz scored to push the Montreat lead to 2-0. The match would endure another long scoreless streak until the Cavaliers opened the floodgates in the 75th minute, when Henrique Cardoso (SO/Lisbon, Portugal) found Dale McClelland (JR/Ayr, Scotland) for a scoring strike to give the Cavaliers a 3-0 lead. Just under six minutes later, Prado scored off an assist from Aaron Trevarthen (JR/McGraths Hill, Australia) and, after allowing a Milligan goal, Trevarthen would score a goal of his own to give Montreat a 5-1 lead. In the 88th minute, Ordaz would score again off of an assist from Chua A (SO/Kontum, Vietnam) and Jorge Mejia (SR/La Esperanza, Honduras) wrapped up the scoring for the Cavaliers when McClelland found him for a scoring strike.

Montreat outshot Milligan 29-13 and held an 8-7 advantage in corner kicks. Miguel Tudon (JR/Vila-Real, Spain) played the first 82 minutes in goal and kept the Montreat net clean while collecting eight saves.

Montreat will next host Georgia Gwinnett College on Saturday, October 15th at 3:00pm.
