SAVANNAH, GA (March 3, 2009) --  The Montreat College women's golf program finished up an unusual cold and brisk two-day event at Savannah College of Art and Design.  The Cavaliers finished 13th in a field of 16 teams with a two day score of 797.  The Cavs shot a 388 on day one and 409 on day two.

Sophomore Caitlin Dempsey improved her 96 score from day one by a stroke to score 95 in game two.  With her score of 191 Dempsey had top scores for the Cavaliers.

Freshman Brittany Zachrich lost six strokes in day two (93,99) to score 192.

Junior Ashley Mitcham shot 96 and 104 for a score of 200, while junior Aimee Turner went 103 and 111 for 214.

Both the men and women's golf teams will compete next in their own Spring Invitational on March 15-17 at Glenn Cannon Country Club in Brevard, NC.
