MONTREAT, NC (February 16, 2009) --  Montreat College Head Men's Soccer Coach Brenton Benware announced today the signing of Austin Shattuck for the 2009 season.  Austin attends Balsom Cove Christian Academy and is a native of Sylva, NC.  Austin has played one year of club for Darlington School Soccer Academy, an elite soccer academy and six years for Highland Football Club (HFC).

Austin is "hoping to have a good time and learn a lot."  Coach Benware is excited about what Austin brings to Montreat College. "Austin comes to us as the full package: great student, excellent soccer player and wonderful character.  I'm very excited about his love for the Lord, and I believe he'll be an immediate impact player for our team."  Austin is the son of Bill and Jenny Shattuck.
