Montreat, NC - The Montreat Men's Soccer Team is proud to announce another one of its top recruits signing his Letter of Intent and will play for the Cavaliers in the 2012 season.
Ezra White is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii with a long playing history and has had much success along the way. Playing mostly at the striker and midfield positions, Ezra is quite the force to be reckoned with. He uses his size, strength and speed to wreak havoc on the opposition.
For his high school, Ezra earned All-Conference honors for 3 years, and made All-State for 1 year. In 2009, he earned the Golden Boot Award, an award given to the player who scored the most goals, for his club team. He also has a slew of championships under his belt as well. With his club team, Ezra has won the State, Regional, and National Championship.
Ezra first heard about Montreat College by Coach Riccardi who found him through Ezra's recruiter. Riccardi instantly saw the talent and potential that Ezra had and after talking with him knew that he would be a good fit for the squad and school. Ezra came to visit Montreat in the Spring, and soon after that, verbally agreed to commit to Montreat for the 2012 season.
When asked what were some of the reasons why Ezra chose Montreat, he replied, "I really liked the guys on the team and the coaching staff seems like a fun crew. Montreat College also had the major I wanted and was a smaller school, which interested me because I could contribute more there. Also, my financial package was very good."
Ezra has finished his senior year at Aiea High School where he played soccer as well as football. He currently is playing in two soccer leagues to get ready for the Fall season. For the Summer, Ezra plans on traveling to the mainland with his club team, Abunai Soccer Academy, for some competitions. He also is hoping to be able to go with his youth group to do some mission related work. Ezra also will be spending some time with his family and friends before he leaves for college in the Fall.
The Men's Soccer program is extremely excited about Ezra's signing. He will no doubt help continue the success that the men's team has had over the past few years.
